Why Did This Happen To My Sheets?
Here are a few questions that everyone has asked about their old or new sheet sets.
Q: Why did my sheets pill?
A: It may be due to your washing machine, and it's not just on your sheets, it's on some of your clothes as well. Sometimes washing machines, especially top loader machines, are the cause of this. Top loaders don't empty after a wash so there will be lint left behind and when you start the next load some of the old water comes back and blends with the next load. This can happen if you washed a load of towels before your fine or gentle items.
Q: Why did the sheets fall apart after the first wash?
A: That is simple. You washed them on the wrong setting, or it's because of the agitator and the wrong wash cycle and spin cycle.
Q: Why are there knots only on the fitted sheet?
A; Again it's your washing machine, front loaders are less likely to cause this issue as they are designed to spin out before each new load
Q: Why don't the sheets fit my bed after the first few washes?
A; That is because you have washed and dried on the wrong cycle.
Q: Why do the sheets not feel the same after you wash them for the first time?
A: It depends on so many things:
Some of the new, all-cotton sheets have something called a satin finish. So before you wash, they have an appearance on silk, but after you wash them, that all changes and they feel like the cotton you remember, just with a little touch of a shine to them.
Q: I paid way more for my other sheets and they don't feel like this!
A: That all depends on if you think these feel better or worse. There is something out there for everyone and you just have to know your self and loved ones to know what you are looking for.
